Chinese lettuce

My mother calls this pak bor chye in Hokkien, which literally means 'beat wife vegetable'. The story goes that a farmer brought the vegetable harvest home, his wife cooked it and the vegetables wilted and shrunk so much after cooking, the farmer was angry and blamed his wife for stealing from him. We've named our product more generically - Chinese lettuce - because we don't want to encourage domestic violence!
